The New Suzuki Swift Sport 2012 is a kind old hatchback pleasantly warm.
But going into detail about exactly how this little bundle of joy has been revised, and what it stands along with other exciting superminis you can buy in 2011, and can not stop doing something with dewey eyes comparisons with some of affordable front drivers that many of us lust after twenty-odd years ago. On sale in the UK next January, the Swift has become more heated faster, stronger, more powerful and more efficient, the necessary improvements to keep pace in an industry as competitive as Europe for urbanites.
For example, when was the last time I read about a performance car is not updated with the starter motor and automatic shutdown or e-DIFF, but a large camshaft lift, brakes and suspension in both gears synchronized first and second? And when any major car manufacturer to launch a dare full-size front-driven, high-performance supermini range with less than 140bhp? My money would be on Suzuki, circa 2005, with the Swift Sport past.
How does it feel?
The new car is to improve tasty recipe from the last little bit. A fully variable intake over and above changes at the time of entry and elevator, have boosted the maximum power of 1.6-liter normally aspirated 134bhp car to the 121 and a maximum torque of 118 lb.-ft. - walking is not massive by any standard.
Most important is the upgrade of five speeds forward and six in the manual gearbox car. These changes can only hit a couple of tenths of a point of reference for the car 0 to 62 mph speed performance, but they do feel that bit quicker through the gears, and the give and take real-world roads .
The most compelling update on the suspension of the Swift Sport has done in the torsion beam rear axle beam. With spring rates finalized most to the front, which has also been equipped with firmer bushings that better control of blade angle and the tip of the rear wheels during hard cornering and, says Suzuki, do that the car is 20 percent faster wheel direction. Despite the higher rates, Swift rides quietly and with a lot of absorption.
Kerbweight for the car is 1045kg, putting the power to weight 128bhp per tonne - which is almost the same as the original Peugeot 205 1.6 GTi had, curiously. And the little Suzuki's really not so different from the wonderful old Peugeot dynamics. Springs rates higher and firmer bushings in the rear have changed a little of the joy of driving the old car precision, a stiffer front subframe and support have helped address there. Thus, while the Swift Sport last under his driver would turn the slightest invitation, entering the corners and through them dance with abandon in an accelerator tip up, the new dynamic has a more rounded. It is in heat with a little less clear, but has a more progressive steering response than the last car, and a very nice feeling of precision and feel through the steering wheel rim.
There is no balance in the chassis of the car yet - more accessible than most compact drivers face is enough to paint a smile on his face on the right track. But there are steps and maturity now. The car is quieter on the highway, has more grip and body control when you really ask, but both good and not to steal Swift rolling comfort or flexibility, or emotions that modern accessible against both drivers fail to deliver.

Should I buy one Suzuki Swift Sport?
One or two might want to put a little more. In quieter moments Suzuki engineers admit that they considered a turbocharger in the early stages, but decided that a car with an excess of pure grunt chassis composure - the load capacity on performance - would be more fun.
And in the driver's car testing small cracks have been created, it is difficult not to agree. Clio Cup is not - but surely choose this new Suzuki in a Twingo Renault Sport or an Abarth 500. As a very affordable pocket rocket for use on the road every day, is very well done trial.
